The mission of Tailfin Automotive Museum is to present, promote, and celebrate the popular culture of classic American-built automobiles. Currently, the eight antique automobiles owned by the museum foundation are in running condition and various states, ranging from restoration-in-progress to show-ready. These cars are enjoyed at events across the country and exhibited at events organized by clubs and sponsors in the Atlanta region.
Founded in October 2003, the Tailfin Automotive Museum was established to provide the excitement of seeing these great American machines—rolling works of art that have survived and thrived through the passage of time and the changes in our culture. The goal of the foundation is to expand the museum into a physical facility in the future, allowing the public to view the automobiles, as well as other historic memorabilia, including antique emblems and hood ornaments, antique gas pumps, neon auto dealership signage, drive-in restaurant and movie theater signs, antique road signs, jukeboxes, children’s pedal cars, antique vending machines, model cars, and much more.
